Paschen Orthodontics has cared for Baraboo smiles for decades. We’re proud of our long-standing ties to the community, caring for young smiles, and those young at heart. We provide orthodontic services for all ages, including young children. From initial evaluations right through to final retainers, our team is dedicated to supporting your family’s smiles.
We can also offer dental hygiene services through our partnership with Dental Associates of Baraboo, who are conveniently located alongside our office. Dr. Dani can perform a complete dental evaluation, detecting cavities using X-rays, and she can also perform preventive dental cleaning procedures. What to Expect
Your First Visit With Us
For most patients, their orthodontic consultation is the first visit. This appointment is focused on gathering information, understanding your needs, and working out whether orthodontic treatment is needed now or in the future.
Your orthodontic evaluation will begin with a digital scan using our iTero scanner to create a 3D image of your teeth and jaws. We will also take a full-mouth panoramic X-ray which will show the alignment of the bite as well as emerging teeth. Together, these scans give us an overview of growth patterns and what is happening in the background, not visible by a visual evaluation alone. Using digital X-rays means we can get clearer images with lower exposure to radiation and there is absolutely no waiting for results.
As part of our comprehensive approach, our team will also complete both myofunctional and airway screenings at your appointment. We look at swallowing patterns, muscle function, and breathing concerns that may affect oral development.
All of this information combined helps us to determine if orthodontic treatment or further evaluations are needed now, or if monitoring is the best next step.
Orthodontic consultations and children’s hygiene appointments take approximately 60 minutes. Adult hygiene visits through our partnership with Dental Associates of Baraboo will take approximately 90 minutes.
Young Patients
Supporting Healthy Development Early
Paschen Orthodontics provides orthodontic care for children starting around age 4. We also welcome infants as young as age 1 for conversations with parents about healthy oral habits and at-home hygiene, and for lip and tongue tie evaluations.
These early visits are educational for parents and kids. We talk about thumb-sucking, mouth breathing, feeding patterns, and how growth can affect the bite. Dr. Dani can also support families as they begin weaning and transitioning to solid foods, helping parents understand how development and nutrition work together. As a mom herself, Dr. Dani is passionate about educating families on how development and food choices work together.
Appointments in these early years are very gentle and supportive. Many children simply need monitoring at first, but coming into the dental office regularly helps them to become comfortable and familiar with the team. Appointments for young patients may also include hygiene visits. These professional cleanings help children to start positive habits.
A Review of Our Findings

After your evaluation, we’ll review all of our findings with you so you’re aware of the current status of your oral health, and any alignment or development issues. We will also discuss your goals, both for your oral health and overall health. This helps us understand what matters most to you and how orthodontic care may support those priorities.
If treatment is recommended, Dr. Dani will outline available treatments for you and explain what each involves. You receive a comprehensive list of recommended care so you can consider timing, expectations, and outcomes.
